Let’s face it: we can’t all be as fortunate as a pop star or movie star, we all don’t have the ability to drop everything at a moment’s notice. Quit that job. How do you meet your financial requirements? We all understand how tough it can be in a job you don’t like. We feel like the only option is to quit and run away. Inevitably we always end up back in the same place having to face ourselves. Not to mention how difficult this can be when we have other people relying on us, a partner or a child.
Invariably people find all sorts of reason’s why they can’t make the changes they want in their lives.
If they truly analysed their situation they would realise that it is never as dramatic as it feels. One of the biggest misconceptions I am starting to notice in peoples thinking, is they feel like “I just don’t have time” at this stage I’m starting to wonder what that even means. If people sat down to analyse how they spent their day they would notice they have a lot more time than they think
How much time do you spend reading online? Newspapers, sports, showbiz, the list is endless.
Chatting away on social media. How much time is spent watching the latest box set that everyone is raving about? How many times a week do you take a walk, go to the gym. Do you head to a bar after work with your colleagues, or your friends? At some point when you want to make change, for a short time you need to sacrifice the time and it needs to come from somewhere else. This time needs to be devoted to whatever resources are required to make that change in your life. No matter your situation is in life you are the only who can achieve your goals
We live our lives by the clock, so we need to learn to control it rather than it control us. Why does time seem to fly when we are enjoying ourselves, but creep when we aren’t. 8 hours sleep seems to pass in an instant. You need to trick your mind into believing that your situation is changing, once you start to do this then you will find it easier to reach your goals. The course that would take months to complete, has all of a sudden finished. Losing that 5kg seems like a distant memory
Stop worrying about the life you aren’t leading, and concentrate on the life that you are leading.
These baby steps will help to bring the change you so desperately crave. Be optimistic about what you are doing, use it to fuel your drive and passion to get to where you want to be. Really focus on what you are trying to achieve, cut out all the negative clutter in your life. No matter how hard a task seems there is always positive to be found. Learn to look for this, stop being that person who sees the glass half empty.
Most of all, be thankful for what you do have.
“People overestimate what they can do in a single day and underestimate what they can do in their whole lives”
